Galleria Clivio is pleased to host in its venue in Milan the exhibition entitled "The  Encounter", dedicated to the artists Roy Thurston (Huntington, New York, 1949) and Antonio Scaccabarozzi (Merate, 1936 - Santa Maria Hoè, 2008), open from September 14th until November 14th 2021.

 The exhibition, curated by Anna Dusi with the contribution of Anastasia Rouchota and Giuseppina Panza, connects the work of the American minimalist artist Roy Thurston with the last cycles of works by Antonio Scaccabarozzi, that makes the painted surfaces on aluminium and wood by Thurston interact with the Banchise and the Velature by Scaccabarozzi.

 The lightness, the research on material, the light and the color that unite the two artists will be put for the first time in direct relationship emphasizing the affinities of the two Masters.

 This exhibition is also the result of Roy Thurston’s desire to exhibit his work together with an artist that he didn’t know personally, but who had a fundamental influence on the development of his research.

 As Anna Dusi says in her critical text: “the exhibition appears as a course of melodies and harmonies from that deduces the different ways of understanding matter and managing his sensitive wealth".
