An exhibition devoted to the work of Antonio Scaccabarozzi (b. Merate 1936–d. Santa Maria Hoè, Lecco, 2008) will open on 26 March 2021. An exponent of Conceptual Art in the 1970s, Scaccabarozzi was the revolutionary creator of a new approach to painting from the 1980s to the early 2000s.
The exhibition comprises a broad range of works extending from the 1970s to the beginning of the twenty-first century, with particular focus on those where the main theme relates to water, intended not just as an element present in a large of number of his experimental paintings, but also as an iconic and spiritual expression of the artist’s poetic purpose.
